New Novice Layout

Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, a new Novice section began at the end of September 2025.  We currently have three members, Bradley, Ben and Clive, together with 4 club members. The group meets twice a week with our first target exhibition of Hucclecote in June 2026.

The section is a Novice one rather than Junior/Youth as Clive is Bens grandfather.  The layout itself has recycled much from the previous Gweiadur Junction, where all the baseboard timber has come from, as will the scenery, rolling stock, locos and some of the buildings.

Progress to date includes PVA’ing boards, inserting support batons, fitting new ‘lids’ corking the layout, fitting new dowels and securing bolts (3D printed, thanks to Giles) and painting board surrounds. At time of writing baseboard construction should be complete by the end of first week in November with track planning also underway.
